Hey all;
Any tips on how to clean shells out of the sand? The snail and crayfish shells kind of dissolve over time, but thicker shells like clams stick around for a long time. My sand substrate is becoming clam substrate. It takes forever to sift through 100lbs of sand. Any quicker methods?
Thanks

I normally remove as much as possible after each feeding and do another clean during weekly water changes, unfortunately not much else one can do...

Ya, that's what I've been doing. I was hoping for an easier answer. 100lbs of sand takes a while to go through.

Yeah, i've been hoping to find an easier way to clean, but sadly havent found one yet, but will be keeping an eye out on this thread just incase :)

what about a sand rake?

What about a fairly fine kitty litter scooper? Same idea as a net, but it might be a little easier since it's rigid.
