I'm located in Canada and I'm trying to find good shelves.. alot of places offer some nice shelves with a good price, and as we all know, Canada is NOTHING compared to what US can offer, we have very little of everything, HAHA! So i finally found a shelf that looks great, perfect, I can stack 6-8 20 gallon's, BUT i read the customer reviews, it wuz horrible, I kept looking and looking.. finally, this is the only shelf i found that would work nice!
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100010588&N=10000003+90401+529235
But after all my calculations, these would only fit 10 gallons! =____=" I originally wanted 20 gallon! I would be called "Littlest Pet Shop".. or "Little Keeper" I'm stuck.... i can't even house a full grown severum in these! I really dunno what to do? I wanted one air pump to supply the oxygen for a few tanks... and now.. i'm just completely stuck.. would 10 gallon's be enuff? i mean.. i am just out of ideas where to get a good shelf that won't fall over! Every review i read says get the Resin shelves cuz they can hold a good weight and affordable! Please help me.. i got a headache now!:irked:
Should i find a bigger shelf?
Should i just stick with resin and 10 gallons?
Are 10gallons enuff?
Should i just breed guppies instead? :screwy:

I hate to say it... I live a city life.. when i say city.. it's a complete disastrous city! HAHA! i didn't even have wood work or metal work back in high skool, and no one that I even know of have ever even cut a piece of wood with a saw in there whole life! I am a complete failure at DIY! HAHA! I shouldn't even post this in DIY! It's more like "find the pieces and stack em together" HAHA~
BUT HELP!! would 10g's be enuff or should i keep finding?

You could buy a few 2x4, plywood, paint and voilà!
You can even ask your hardware store to cut the pieces for you.
Take your time and you would be surprise what you can do.

If you still want shelf, you can try the spacemaker brand available at almost any hardware store in Canada, Canadian tire, Rona, Home hardware...
http://www.sheds.com/sprorack.htm and http://www.sheds.com/sezrack.htm
They hold atleast 600lbs per shelf.

The main problem with that kind of rack is the height between every shelf. If you have tall tanks, your water change won't be easy to do.

Good luck :)

DIY is very simple and if you talk to most peopple on here they would help you plan it out. home Depot will cut your wood to size no problem they do almost anything. if you follow the plans as put forward and have good cuts (which if given to them accurate when ordered is pretty easy) then even if it isn't perfect it will be plenty strong. if you don't like that there are commercial stands available that are plenty strong enough. I personally would look into these for your plan if you don't want to DIY imho

workforce = trash.. that goes for their tools, shelves, bags... everything except their A clips.. those things are great and super cheap

DIY is the way to go... or wait for store closings and try to score some warehouse shelving (closing shoestores = wonderful)

Find a welder, metal stands are fairly cheap and will last for ever. Since your DIY handycapped let some one do it for you!
