Okay so I was at my LFS yesterday checking out the new stock of cichlids. They have some Kenyi Cichlids I'm very interested in. I was watching them for about 20 mins and I noticed a few things. A larger, more vibrant, less nipped female was chasing the other females around. Then she would go to the surface and Shimmy. She's doing this because she's dominant right?

Nope she's blue and 2-3 inches long. No hint of yellow and no hint of an eggspot. All the males in the tank were "transforming" they're still a little blue but they're becoming more and more yellow. I'm about 90% sure she's a female. I'll get a picture asap.

I've seen females do this to each other. It's a dominance thing.

he he... Yeah I got her. Had to have the beauty. She's colored up really nice. They IMMEDIATELY started eating the ghost shrimp though... so I saved them and put them in my planted 20 gallon.... I got her and a male. gonna get 2-3 more females this friday.
