(I live in Georgia) So I want to buy this Fire Eel from Cali. It costs 10 bucks and Priority Mail is another 10 bucks. Do you think it could survive the trip. FedEx overnight is $45 and it just seems dumb to pay 4 times as much to ship the Fish as the fish actually costs. Opinions? Thoughts?

a fish can only live in a bag for a few days..overnight is the best way by far..but a fire eel for 10 bucks is pretty cheap! do they have more?:D

Wow $10 shipping only? Sounds too low...especially for 10" of eel. OK well, I think the 11x8" box USPS Priority flat rate is around that amount.

This is what I always say...lol, and BayArea_510 has this for his sig...it was something like, "Would you take a hot Model out to McDonalds?"
You have to measure what the worth is to you, because you have to think like this...You go Cheap, if the fish dies then you lose $20 for nothing, no refund on Priority mail. So what I suggest is buy more than 1 fish and have it shipped $45 next day.

Pay the extra for overnight. Almost all respectable companies guarantee live arrival with over night shipping. To me that is worth the extra money.

Yeah, pay for the peace of mind and get it shipped to you as quickly as possible.Since this fish can't be found in your area just think of the fees as the total cost of the fish.

No offense... If it seems dumb to pay 4 times as much to ship a fish, it would be dumber to buy a fish and have it ship without knowing whether it could survive the trip, no matter at what cost... Might just throw the $20 in the toilet and flush it.
