ok, so some of you I am sure have delt with shipping fish before(meaning you ship them to someone else) I have never done it before, but am selling some fish and have a question, about how much water and what size bag would you use to ship a foot long pleco and a 6-7inch silver dollar? my guess was about 1.5-2 gallons for the two. I want them to arrive safely should they need to be shipped(someone showed interest in those two), but I also want to make the shipping costs as minimal as possible for the buyer as well. Any suggestions? what do you home aquarists do to prep your fish for shipping? I know pros use certain additives and pure oxygen in the bags, but I don't know where to get my hands on that stuff, or even if its all necessary for an over night shipment.

There's a very good post on here from a vendor that goes thru it all just can't lay my fingers on it.

The Pleco is going to be the problem, that big the fins are going to be poking thru everything other than Styrofoam.

Best bet may be to get a LFS to ship for you.

Maybe you can glean a little info from these:
