I cannot find anywhere that can inject pure O2 into a bag for me...So I was wondering can bag buddies replace the O2 injection completly. I also have access to the breather bags but i am afraid that these fish will break the bags and I don't think you are supposed to double bag or anything with them...

What are you shipping? but IMO bag buddies doesn't completely replace o2 just helps with ammonia burn and stuff. I guess if you have to just trap as much air in as possible. Wouldn't be as big of a deal if you're sending AP to AP.

Breather Bags.....

Let's O2 in, and allows CO2 to escape....

You fill the bag with water and tie it off. Have as little air in the bag as possible. For shipping, less air in the bag means less sloshing around. Less sloshing means less stress on the fish.

As long as the bag is secure in the container, you shouldn't have to worry about breaking the bag. I've had fish sent to me off aquabid, and they have all come in breather bags. No problems yet.

ask your local welding store if you can buy/rent an oxygen tank.

maybe even your hardware store??

if you're shipping small fish, you can use extra large bags and ship over night without oxygen.

They are large like 8-10" buttis. I could get my hands on some breather bags. I had my pickerel shipped to me in a breather bag and many others and they were all fine I was just worried since the butti are a bit bigger and meaner.

that's a big fish, and the spines are very likely to puncture the bags.

shipping large cichlids is tricky and I wouldn't recomend it unless you're experienced.

definitely would need oxygen for that sized fish.
