how would u ship a 2 foot argus monitor from so cal to northern cal. is it posible, if so what do u do. thanks

When I shipped reptiles back in the day, I used to use appropriately sized fish boxes with the styrofoam inserts. I would poke holes in it for air, put the snake or lizard in either a container or a pillowcase/snake bag, crush up some newspaper for some cushioning and box it up. Depending on the weather report for that day for your, as well as, the receiver's locale, you could add either some hot packs or cold packs in the package to ensure that the animal would not freeze or cook. I also marked the box "LIVE HARMLESS LIZARDS" or something of the like. Check with the courier to make sure that they accept such packages though.

a peice of pvc pipe with screw on ends plenty of air holes
becarefull of toes and tail
place that inside a padded box

I use a long slat box lined with that egg carton-like foam. I may either also use a pillowcase or leg restraint bands. If weather demands, I will put that box into another one with some sort of extra insulation and temperature control.

I would ship in a rubbermaid with holes melted into sides for ventilation. I would line the bottom with moist papertowels, and then 1-2" of shredded paper.
The container should be small enough to protect against injury, but large enough to allow animal to turn around (no problem if tail has to curl around).
It's pretty damn hot in Cali right now.
You need to decide for yourself wether to ship in a styro box with a heat pack , ice pack, or none.
At this time of year it's really a gamble, good luck.
