Read something earlier that got me thinking. For those of you that ship a fair number of fish, whats your in-transit mortality like? USPS Priority? USPS Express? UPS/FedEx? Air Cargo?

I don’t ship them but I buy them Fairly often for friends, family members, and myself. The bigger issue is the likelihood of the carrier taking longer.

here’s my estimated survival rates

Usps: rarely use if ever, absolute last option. If the mail isn’t busy my survival rates about 70%, if they’re busy and my package comes late, 20%

ups: usually on time but second most untimely. 90% of the time they’re on time. 80-85% survival

fedex: if you’re using post this is the best option, never had a late fish order 90% survival rate

freight: best option and highest survival rate, also the best bang for your buck. a 15lb package is like $65-70. 95% survival
