could i put mts in a small tupperware or mason jar and ship with padding in a box? 2 or 3 day shipping

Ship them in a plastic bag like what the LFS use. Triple bag them with 1/3 water 2/3 air. 2-3 day air is fine.

You can stuff hundred in a standard bag, but this depends on how much water you have. It doesn't usually cost more, but they have to seperate it from the rest of the items being shipped so they don't get wet.
Check the buy sell section. I ship them somewhat regularly. They usually run $4.05 for shipping, and a couple for shipping items.

When i use to sell of my extra mts i use to just package them in a soaked clothe and put it in a plastic bag (like from the fish store). Add a bit of water to keep the cloth damp and heat seal the bag. Then put it in another bag and repeat the heat seal but with a little extra air blown into the bag. Never had any problems before
