With ship your reptiles, dont you have to buy all the stuff from them, cant I just get my own box and containers and do it myself? How much is it typically for say one baby gecko? Is it more for a live animal or is it just by weight?

Well since they are using fed ex now anyways you either ship through them or get fed ex certified and ship on your own..but you have to get certified.
I have no idea what if any live animals ups is still accepting...pretty sure the drama with syr screwed that up and thats probably not an option anymore.
the usps MIGHT allow shipment of lizards but i know they don't allow snakes.... but it's generally believed that no responsible keeper/breeder would risk using the usps.
It is always going to be more expensive for shipping a live animal because it has to be over night shipping. no standard or even 2 day shipping...must be over night. and most places will end up charging by weight as well but if it's under a lb then no worry there.

Ship your reptiles doesn't ship anymore..
Just FYI.

EDIT:
Just visited the website, glad they're back in business.

UPS will still take reptiles but will not accept snakes of any kind...

SYR is shipping.........

No, you don't have to use their boxes.......

And it's really simple to do a rate quote......

I dont get it, say your am home, and have the supplies, now what, how do THEY ship it? Basicaly right now in my shoose what would you do if your only going to ship a couple geckos once in a while?

I just go to my UPS shipping center and they take it all... Even venomous snakes. You should just give it a try.

You don't get what? You put in the information, print the label, and either schedule a pickup or drop it off at a Fed-Ex hub......
