Hello everyone,
I have a few questions about my two stingrays. I have a motoro and a humerosa. They are still very small, about 4 - 6 inches in diameter. They are in a 75 gallon tank.
1. We have green murky water in our tank. I tried to get rid of it by doing water changes, and I did a MASSIVE water change that I didn't know I shouldn't have done. (Approx 60 - 75 %) (WHOOPS!!!!!) Well, the male humerosa is perfectly fine, and goes about his normal business of scaling the sides of the tank, and eating like a pig. The female motoro doesn't scale the sides since the water change, and I am wondering if I hurt her, or put her in shock, and if so, will she recover, and what should I do to help her? She still eats like a pig too, and constantly searches for food, but she just doesn't go up the sides of the tank anymore. Any suggestions?
2. I asked Yew at Fish Gallery about how to kill the green water, and he said it is just a sign of a new tank, that it will happen. He said it will go away in about 2 - 3 weeks, and that we should just wait it out. I don't know if I would call it algae, or just green water. Does anyone have an opinion about this?
3. Between the two stingrays, they are eating 3 worms a day between them, so a worm and a half daily each. Does anyone know, is this too much, or not enough, or what? We have previously introduced goldfish, and ghost shrimp which were a big success, and went down quickly. We just introduced minnows into the tank, and it didn't look like the stingrays were impressed with this. They hid and would not eat them, although in their defense, they had already had their normal amount of worms, so they may have been full. So, does anyone know if 3 nightcrawlers between the two is too much? We usually feed one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one before bed, OR one in the morning, and two around suppertime.
Thanks for anyone's help and suggestions!
