 I was feeding my crayfish and saw something in my sump. I saw a small figure behind my pump and got a flashlight to check out what it was. I saw 2 small crayfish. And i'm like, how did it happened. The crayfish was about 1" long. I remember buying two of them a while back but he got eaten by the remaining crayfish.
So how could this happen? Any info would be great.
Thanks
Ben

u sure they got eaten. i thoght that once but they just shed there exo shell or what ever its called. it looks just like a dead one but its just the outher shell, then they go hide tell there new stuff gets hard

yea, tanker right, ive had crayfish for years, they molt, leaving a perfect skeletal likeness of themselves, which fish chew on, and then yea it looks just like they are eating your crafish.
fun to watch them molt, its like they give birth to themselves, keep a little higher temp if you want them to molt easier

ya i thoght mine was dead bc when there down they are soft for a while and they hide. anyway my wife was siting on the ****er and then my 5" blue crayfish cam under the door and ran at her ya it ran at here. i thoght he was dead for a week but he was around the house. hahhaa

See, mines not even that big. It's about 3-4" only. So how can she produce baby w/ a mate?

Yea man, ive had that happen too, had one clank across the floor at a girlfriend years ago, she flipped, blood curdleing scream, i run in there, and its just a stupid escaped crayfish walking around clankin his claws on the lenoleum.

ive also found a few all dried up, like behind the tv, under the couch, they are good at getting out

ya i have found my share of dried ones and crabs to

If you had a female carrying eggs when you got her they might be survivors.

I think so. She must have been fertile when she ate her mate. Now, the 2 crayfish are in separate tanks.
