I have a trio of MM. I recently had a leak in the seal of the tank and had to shift everything into a 45 gallon tub while I resealed it. I put a fuval Fx5 on the tub to keep the nitrates down and the water aerated. When I replaced the fish, I noticed a little tingle everytime I touched the water. The fish seemed a little stressed and no one was eating at this time. I finally realized that one my heaters malfunctioned and was mildly shocking the fish. WTF!:nilly: Since I removed it, everyone has started eating except the male MM. I have done two water changes since then . I have tried all of his favorite foods but still nothing. Any suggestions?

hmmmmm you might just keep the lights off and wait and see, might take a few days b4 the MM gets unstressed.

Still not eating. He swims around periodically and actually seems to just be indifferenet to food. He does not seem stressed though. Just vbery calm. He has been this way for about a week and a half now.

I imagine electric tingled to us may be massive to the receptors on a Ray, I expect that given time and maybe some live food along with tip top water will help.

You can buy frozen food that has garlic in it, this is known to stimulate feeding in some fish, I expect that mixed with live bloodworm or live shrimp may kick start him.

Are you checking ammonia and nitrites daily since re adding them?

How is he doing. I have had heaters malfunction on multiple of accassions to the point of when I reached in and literally
was shocked. But it showed no ill effects on my rays. Have went through 8 different stealths in the last 8 months and will
no longer use them. But that is a derail.
Are you sure that there isn't a different underlying issue.

I agree with SS...we have had many heaters malfunction and cause us to get shocked, however never noticed it having any effect on the rays. We spent a couple hours one day trying to find the source of an electrical tingle in our big pond, rays were fine, but by the time we were done I could no longer feel my thumb. We weren't netting the rays or touching them though...I don't know if an electrical shock could be more devastating to them if you were in contact with them while you were being shocked. My dad used to grab one of us kids and then grab the electric fence for the livestock and pass the charge along to us, I suppose it could work the same with fish, the "person" on the end always gets the worst of it. ???? I'm no electrician though....just throwing out ideas here.
