My 110 just zapped me. I could only feel it on the finger that has a hangnail, so I hope it's not too bad. I started unplugging things and found that it was coming from 2 devices!! The light (can't figure out how) and the pump in the wet/dry were both introducing voltage into the tank. I had to shut the wet/dry down.

My question is, will I be alright with just the large (120g rated sponge filter) and a powerhead with a sponge on the intake (both established) until I get the new pump? The stock is 1 9" indo and a ~17" tig. I'll feed lightly until I get the wet/dry going again. Thanks in advance.

I know tigs are a bit more sensitive, but I'd hope they'd be ok. Personally I wouldn't feed at all, just to make sure the water quality isn't effected too much too quickly (think this will be the biggest problem), at least depending on how long you can get it all fixed up.

That kind of sucks it happened, you got any idea how? Good luck mate.

Could be an ammonia jump in the first 24 or so hours till they pick up the slack figure an extra waterchange or two to be safe those are some sweet fish:thumbsup:

The pump is just old, but I'm still trying to figure the light out. I'll bring some stuff home from work and find out what's going on with that. My guess is there is some leakage current to the case (it's a metal case) and it's conducting through water that's been splashed up by the air bubbles on the sponge filter.

The girlfriend said she felt it before, so apparently it's been like that for a while and we could only feel it if there was a break in our skin. The tig and dat have acted fine, so I think they'll be ok.

Luckily I didn't feed them yesterday, so I think I'll be ok. I just want to check with everyone on this one:)

are you running the drip on it?

Not at this time. now that I'm ditching the wet/dry on it I will.

A 17" tig in a 110g? What's the floor plan?

I think the sponge filters should be fine in the short term.

4'x1.5'. He's not worth risking with a 22" jardini and he needs a little bit more bulk before he is introduced to my marbled pim.
