last night i was cleaning the back of my 5 gallon tank i bought, and had a striplight resting on the frame. well, i moved the filter to get access to the glass behind it and it knocked the striplight into the water. well, instinct took over me and i grabbed the striplight to remove it from the tank. i got the biggest shock i've ever had. it felt light my finger (touching the light) was severely burned, and one of my toes that was touching the ground also. and i could feel it throughout my whole body as i was being shocked. luckily i had already knocked back a few glasses of johnny walker black so i didn't feel so bad for doing something so stupid. moral to the story is, don't drink and clean fishtanks with striplights resting on the frame. -.-

Hiro, Hiro, Hiro, what are you doing drinking and playing w/electricity? Sorry, dude, that IS terrible. Are you ok now? besides the burns. I am always afraid of stuff like that. Tanks are always next to the outlets, and strips, and lights. I am always paranoid of stuff like that. Good "lesson" story for those who read. Feel better, bud.

rofl, i am fine. only because i used my ninja tactics to escape the electrical current. it did burn though for a good couple hours. and i could feel it in my chest.

Dang, that really sounds painful. The strongest shocks that I've ever felt was when cleaning saltwater tanks and get shocked every once in awhile. Needless to say, I used grounding probes for the tanks right after those incidents.

Your story actually tied in with something that I saw earlier today. Saw some fluorescent lighting encased in some sort of enclosure that allowed it to be used inside of the tank...

Everyone please get circuit breakers fitted.

Then you can enjoy your scotch safely (mine's a Glenlivet).
Slainte mhath!*

Dear Hir0,
i'm glad you are still amongst us.

When i was very young, perhaps at the age of 6 or 7, i started to develop interest in electricity -
by putting a long nail into an electric socket.
I'm persuading that i still can imagine the feeling.
