shoplight in plastic strip fixture

in 2 of my tanks they use incandescent bulbs but i want to switch it out and use florescent tubes instead. is it possible to attach a homedepot shoplight into the plastic strip fixture (i think its perfecto)?
also if i were to put in a plant bulb in the shoplight would it fit and work properly?

If they are the screw in type incandescents just replace them with compact fluorescents. Be sure to get 6500k for a white light. You can get them n 2 packs at wally world for about $6. They grow plants well, but also algae if you over do it.
