what is the whole attraction factor i'm just not getting about them, many people here love these SB fish, and to me they just look deformed and ugly, not attractive at all, is it a rarity factor or something else? the only good looking SB i have ever seen are endli's.

It depends on what fish. I not a big fan of Parrot cichlids, but I do like the Parrot x FH hybrid. As for SB, it depends on the fish as well.

I dig the rarer short bodys.. not so much the mass produced and "baloon" ones..

People tend to like the rareness of SB fish. When getting them please consider that it might also have a shorter life span since often their internal organs still grow at a regular rate, hence the ballon like features they often have. The regular grow rate of their organs can even cause damage to themselves given that theres not enough room and eventually getting their organs crushed!!!

Some of them look really "off" and to me that's ugly. My SB con is just a bit more round, shaped more like say a chromide, and is kind of cool.

another Q- how do you breed fish to have offspring that are SB?

In the ones that are worth more.. you don't.. it's a one off deformitie or one that happens 1 in x many. Though with SB's you see more of it's probably line bred.

that's basically what i figured, thanks:)

what is the life span of a SB fish compared to normal fish of the same species?
