Short bodied gars?? r they real?

Saw this while looking at some other stuff. I think it says Short bodied...something. Looks like gar. Do these actually exist??? I saw short bodied balloon paroon shark and didnt think they existed ether. So anyone ever see a short bodied gar in person

This linked popped up in the wolf fish thread and is now all over the place haha. That looks like a natural deformity to me that may or may not make the fish seem "shorter". I have never seen or heard of a short bodied gar, but there might be one out there....

they exist as deformities like they can in plenty of other fishes. yes, gars with broken backs can heal and will look different than a normal gar, but there is little confusing them with short-bodied gars.

we had one come out of our SPG spawnings for our research - i still have him swimming around in a tank in our house (not nearly as deformed as the gar pictured in the link) --
