This one looks longer though and they weren't much different in height. Idk it still looks different to me.

weird looking things.....I wonder why they hybridize......they don't even seem compatible, i'm still confused why they are Lepomis and not their own genus
I know what hybrid it is I just thought it was deformed or something like that but the variations of hybrids makes sense also. Oh well he's a cool little guy who thinks he's big and bad
Because green sunfish is horny species, they will hybridizing with any lepomis species and producing FERTILE hybrids. Many stocked green hybrids often reverted back to green sunfish in new waters. Plus the green sunfish use the hybridization as their advantage since they often produce larger hybrid males since many females of any sunfish species preferred larger and stronger males over smaller males in reproduction sense. That's when the hybrid males producing backcross hybrids which can resembles more green looks or more (insert a species) looks.
