There are huge variables in spinal deformity. You can have a SB fish that never gets sick for many years or you can have a SB that died of young age due to the severe spinal deformity. But since they are in captivity, they will receive better care and live longer.
Ah ok. I figured that some are in really bad shape but I wanted to know if all of them are more susceptible to becoming ill or have short life spans.

My blood parrot is SB. I purchased it in 2004 and he is still thriving to this day. That should tell you something.
