I saw an ad for short body peacock bass. Are these as healthy as normal, stunted growth or deformity or genetically bred this way? Thank you

Me personally i am not a fan of them at all. I am sure they have health issues as they grow and age but i cant be for certain.

It’s a deformity/mutation that breeders select for. They don’t get as large and will probably not live as long

I'm not sure what the point is in creating an intentionally deformed fish, that has organs crammed into a smaller space.

Do you think the fish has some some sort of personal realization that because it has been selected to be smaller, it may willingly accept a smaller territory?
