Maybe a stupid question but i was just wondering, are the small spikes on a rays tail as venomous as the stinger? Are the small spikes venomous at all? I know its the skin on the stinger that holds the venom. But the skin on those small spikes looks a bit different to me. Never heard or read something about it, so i thought let ask it you guys :)

Greetings
Rick

hmm...never thought about it but I can see your reasoning. Grab their tail and find out!

i will if you do first. honest. :screwy:

I never touch rays tail myself but saw a picture from a friend of mine. He got ray spike on his hand after trying to clean his ray tank close to his ray. Don't try this at home ! LOL

i think I read once that the tail is encased in a membrane where it is constantly bathed in a poison. It is not like a snake's tooth where there is a channel that holds the venom and injects it
