Short tails and Jurupari compatibility

Hi,

I had kept rays in the past with discus and some discus would pick on the spots of the rays. I'm thinking of starting a ray tank with jurupari cichlids. I know they are community fish but am not sure how they will act toward the rays when they are breeding. Can someone give me a suggestion on the compatibility of these? I don't have any of these species right now but am just doing research.

In addition, I've seen some nice rays with very short tails or no tails at all. Do these rays with little or no tails have issues with breeding or feeding?

I current have a tank with discus and severum and haven't had any issues so far. Moat people are gonna recommend the ray by itself or with other rays
