I just picked up a new texas cichlid today and he seems to be shortbodied. I have a regular texas just a little bigger than him and there is definately a huge difference. Anyone else ever come across these?

yeah, Im working on that, but just wondered if anyone else has come across them.

Yes, at rms in cleveland. I saw a bunch of shortbody texas there not long ago. They were listed as new. Looked kind of like the parrotxflowerhons, but only they had texas padderns.

I haven't been to rms in a long time. I'll have to see if they still have them. Did they look like mine? Do you guys think this one is a hybrid or not? Here is a pic of my normal one then some pics of the new guy.

Yes they did look like yours, were a little darker blue but as far as body shape, identical.

He is actually much more blue than the pic shows. The flash washed him out a bit. His color is exactly the same as the blue on a normal texas.
