I know most bp males are sterile. I was wondering what the likelyhood of a shortbody fh being sterile as well. Has anyone evr successfully bred a shortbody male with another fish of equal size or larger? I have a shortbody I believe is male and am wondering what my options might be as far as breeding goes or are they basically an ornamental fish? Any input is appreciated!!!

It isnt the SB part of a parrot that makes it sterile. Yes many SB FH are breedable
I see, but I was thinking the opposite that the parrot part of a shortbody might make a sb sterile.

looks female to me... most sb flowerhorn shouldn't be sterile, as far as i know...

Nope you are fine... Having a SB fish is just a gene in the fish... You can find almost any fish pure or hybrid in SB form... Even having a Kirin Parrot male can be fertile... Just BP males seem to have that high infertility rate.
