shortbody oscar?

do you think this is a shortbody oscar? i bought this guy along with 3 other oscars when they were all the same size. the two albinos i have are growing slower than this guy height wise but length wise they are the same. the other oscar he is the same height wise but lenght wise he is longer. what do you think?View attachment shortbodyoscar1.JPGshortbodyoscar2.JPGshortbodyoscar3.JPGoscargroup.JPG

Thanks, that's what I am hoping for but when comparing him with my red oscar they look really different. I couldn't get a picture of the two side by side to get a better look.
 
SB gene can effect all kinds of fish species not just cichlids so its completely possible that its a short body. and the short body affliction is a deformity so yes the fish is technically deformed.

Anyone who owns or has owned oscars can tell you that, that fish doesn't look like a normal oscar.

sadly it is, my first deformed oscar out of the 20+ that i have purchased over the years. i guess it helps to purchase them when they are a little bigger. these four guys i bought at the same time were all the same size and shape at the time of purchase
