Is this really possible or are they all just stunted? The LFS has one that has a shortbody and I am not sure if it is healthy (which outwards appearance such as swimming makes it look so) or if it is stunted. Any way to tell?

i wouldn't get it...
that thing is probably suffering. probably has all sorts of swim bladder or health related problems

i find it disgusting that some people want to breed short bodied of anything. that just seems cruel

yeah. . . . i don't know about the shortbodied thing. maybe it's stunted, maybe it's been disgustingly overfed on goldfish or hotdogs so it just looks really short because it's so obese, maybe it is actually a true shortbodied oscar. whichever one it is, i wouldn't buy it. none of those options are things i would want to support.

I totally agree!!!

Uncle Bill's. It was interesting, but probably unhealthy internally. It had the head of a 8"+ oscar, but was only around 4-5".

I never have been much of a fan of the "short body" fish. to me they just look deformed.
