Shortnose color change...

I transferred my favorite shortnose over to my 125g tank on Sunday. Here are some pics from Sunday night, right after the transfer (first 4 pics), and then from today, just 30 minutes ago:

Yah, this one, plus the 2 of the others are all about 12" now. Not quite as stout as my florida gar, but almost as long. 1 other is about 11", and the two smallest are now about 10" (when I picked them up they were only about 7" long. Not bad growth for 3.5 weeks!). I've only had that one die on me so far, and that was a mystery (probably broken back, but who knows).

I was kind of surprised by how dark the shortnose has gotten so quickly. He was the most brightly silver colored one of the bunch, but now he's a deep silver on top, with the scales getting lighter as you go down his sides. His spots stand out more now too.

I'm thinking about transferring one or two more to my 125g, just to see if they all change color like that...
