And they're looking good and eating like pigs! With the exception of the smallest gar, they're all eating 2 or 3 feeder comets per feeding, twice a day! The smaller one is generally only eating 1 comet, but I did see him get 2 this morning. I also saw one of the gars testing out some freeze dried krill I dropped in for the sunfish/bluegill
. I'm hoping once they get nice and fat, I can get them taking krill and pellets pretty quickly.
I'm still debating about whether or not to add any substrate. If I do add any, it will probably be either black sand, like my 125g tank, or a dark brown small size gravel. What do you guys think?
p.s.- I'm starting to think that not all of these are shortnose gars... is it possible some of them are longnose gars? Just going by the coloring and the snout length. What do you think about that.
