Picked this 25 gallon up for cheap as dirt about two weeks ago, have since added a few frags and some new fish, the clown is a mean mofo and bit a chunk out of my hand the other day, he also will not tolerate any rocks being placed up top that are light enough for him to push off and consistently knocks them down.

Anyway, I don't know jack about salt water - I did a reef tank once a while back and started neglecting it a while into it to the point of it getting covered in coralline algae and those big purple bubbles of algae.

Any advice on the tank is appreciated - I plan to upgrade into a 40 gallon as the blue tang grows up a bit.

2 32 watt PC lights over it, replaced the pump that was in there with an AquaClear 400 pushing 250 GPH as the original pump pushed the temperatures into the tank up to 88 degree's or higher!

I do a 5 gallon water change weekly with pre mixed sea water - this amounts to almost 50% of the water in the tank.

Dose all of the coral additives and supplements - including daily feedings of bioplankton and phytoplankton.

Feed a small pinch of New Life Spectrum and a single Emerald Entree cube daily.

I was originally running the Actinic bulb 12 hours a day with the 10k bulb from 12-4 every day but have since started turning the 10k on at 10 every morning until 4 in the evening since adding the frogspawn.

Let me know what I'm doing wrong or could be doing better, thanks :)

So I'm guessing that after 12 views and no replies I'm either not providing the proper information for feedback or doing so much wrong that nobody wants to the take the time?

dont worry it happens, to me also, i make threads 13 views not a single reply, makes me feel unloved =>.>= but dont take it personally. Im sure some one will come by and say something. hmm id say do like only 10%-15% water change instead of 50%.. i hope i didnt read wrong =S if i did then sowwy =^.^= definately upgrade later on for ur Dori Fish =D i personally seem to like Marine Land Timer.. they are everywhere in my house (fetish!) Buy one Buy one! They are lots of Fun =^_^= specially when ur not home lol. but umm.. yes nice tank you have! i didnt think that tomato clown wud be so mean.. i was thinking more maroon clown. Hi Hi =^_^=

EDIT: My SPelling mistakes.. did i miss any =D?

i dont think your doing any thing wrong,,,50%warter change seem a bit much.
and i would get rid of that clown, the others will starve, and if your keeping hards i would upgrade my lighting,,,,
what are your params???kh,ph phosephate,,,blar blar you know the drill, hope this helps

you really dont have to do that many changes but the clown looks a little big.

also that little blue tang HAS to go

blue tang is getting moved into a 40 gallon as soon as she gets some size and I get some time - actual only resident in this tank is going to be the clown fish in the long term.

40 is still WAY too small
unless you have or are currently setting up a 125+ i'd just give it back to the store
