Hello MFK,

I've always loved oscars since day 1 and i wanted to get a pair but i have some concerns.

125 gallon 6ft tank stock list:

~17 clown loaches 2"-5".
4 Tinfoil barbs 3-5"
1 Royal pleco 7"

I think my tank may be getting close to overstocked. I use a AC 110 and a fluval fx5 as my filtration. I do have the option of adding another fx5 to the tank if needed.

I wanted to get a pair of red tiger oscars from my LFS. I'm expected them to be around 2" in size when i first get them.
My concerns are:
1. is my tank overstocked as it is?
2. Is my filtration sufficient?
3. Will adopting a pair of oscars be a wise or poor decision?
4. Also, can oscars live peacefully with my clowns if i get the oscars when they're small?

Thanks MFK.

The 125g will not be able to handle ALL the full sized adults of what you already have!

If you really want a pair of Oscars I would get rid of some fish. The tinfoil barbs would be one of my first choices to go along with at least 12 loaches. Though I like plecos and the royal is one of the better looking I dont think they are worth the bioload. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. Understood.

I guess my eyes are bigger than my fish tank. (Instead of my eyes are bigger than my stomach??) I will hold off for now. I dont want to jeopardize the health of all my fish.
