Have a 160g (72x20x25) tank that currently has 4 lemon tetras and 2 congo tetras and will soon have 8 young geo red heads. I'll be upping the numbers to the congo tetras to 5 and lemon tetras to 7. For this tank I want a peaceful SA community tank that has some color and is just generally relaxing.

I have been debating if I wanted to add a Severum or 2 or a Uaru or 2 or one of each or just leave it with the red heads - if adding two of the same would make sure they were the same sex to avoid them breeding and taking over the tank.

I have always liked Severums both in terms of looks and personality, would be a hard decision between a Gold, Turquoise or Rotkeil. I have never owned a Uaru before but have seem them around these forums and they seem like a fish I wouldn't mind trying my hand at keeping.

Thats a tough one. I have a lone Uaru and 9 severums(Rots, Gold, Green, Atabapo) I realy like my Uaru. I had 3 Uarus but 2 paired off and beat the piss out of the 3rd. I would probably go with Uarus but. In my next build I want to try and have a group of 6 U's and see how that goes.....

the rotkeil severums would look nice in that combo. I have red head geos with angels and rotkeils and they all get along well. The uaru would get bigger, and I've heard they're like goats, chewing on everything they can including driftwood. I didn't want to take a chance on the wood or my background when I was trying to choose between severums and uaru.

I cant speak on the Uaru chewing up a background, but mine will shred anything that remotely looks like a plant. I have a group of five and there isnt too much aggression between them. Then again, when I had severums, they acted just about the same as the Uaru.

Love the Uaru's but they will eat anything resembling a plant. But very docile. Heros...like the rotkiel or orange shouldered would be really nice as well. Have you ever thought of chocolate cichlids or psittacus, True parrots?
