Hey all,
I've been doing alot of research on FW stingrays. I'm picking up one male MM and 2 female MM. I don't have any pics of the females because there not available till monday. But, I do have some pics and a video of the male.
What I'm concerned about on the male is a area on his outer disc edge? I've seen it one other marble before and I don't know if it's something for me to worry about?
The area kinda reminds me of a glob of paint with mixed colors in it on the canvas? You take the brush and swipe thru the glob, leaving a streak of streched colors. This is what it looks like to me.
In the video, if you stop at 1:31-1:33 you can see the underneath part of the marble. You'll notice a little dark patch area, that isn't as white as the rest of the underside? The patch looks uneven and the edge looks a bit crumpled?

Will this effect the MM in anyway? I want him to live a long and happy life!

It's a previous injury that has affected the rays disc pattern upon regrowth. No it does not affect the rays heath.
Hmmm I wonder if this previous injury has to do with being caught with a hook or netted?

Yea, I guess it's more of a cosmetic thing for me I guess. He seems to be pretty active and not just sitting in one spot. My guy (seller) has been QT him for a while. Says that the marble is feeding.

I found out that this male marble was caught last week. My guy says that the bottom of the disc is completely smooth. And, also he was able to pet him while he was feeding on a piece of shrimp. So, cool!
On monday, when the females arrive with my seller (massaggression.com Nate)? There will be one male and 3 females. I'm going to check out the male.
I am getting a great deal on this male. I prepaid for a 7-8" male marble and this one is much larger than we both expected. I was told he is at the 11-12" mark, but since our deal was already set? My guy is not going to charge me more, woohoo!

If wild caught a week ago then I would want to allow much more qt time and I would insist that part of that process includes parasite treatment and watch it feed yourself and ideally on a variety of foods.

Good idea. I will ask him for a video of the marble actually eating.
My guy is treating the marble with some stuff. I forgot the names but I trust that he is treating it well.
