I was looking over my 75g tank today and noticed something that didnt look right. The tank is less than 2 months old. About half way down the side the two glass pieces arnt tight together, it doesnt leak and when I push on the glass it does seem to be solid.

I would be concerned if the two pieces of glass was up against eachother, from your pic it i can`t see any signs of stress/ or something going wrong.
The glass should be away from each other so that each pane of glass can flex/work induvidually, if they where against eachother, then 1 pane of class could brake the other.

Actually, from what I recall reading in the past, the silicone bond is stronger the thinner it is. What you don't want is all that flexing. I will see if I can dig up any more info.

That said, if you don't see any bowing or the start of separation, I really wouldn't worry about it.

Some info that I found, sounds to me like the magic number is 1-2mm (which I would think is fairly thick). So I may have heard wrong in the past!

From http://www.ifi.eu/downloads/dataSheet/96%20CPX33%20AQUARIUM.PDF

Joint dimensions:
The bonding of joints for bonded glass aquariums can be broken down into two parts;
i) the sealing joint, of width identical to the thickness of glass used and of thickness (h) around
1-2mm

and

From http://www.absealantsltd.com/sealants.htm#AQUARIUM%20SILICONE

Add enough supports to prevent bending of the glass. Minimum bond thickness should be 1 mm. Never fill the aquarium until full cure
