I plan to keep mainly south american fish in my tank. 1 Aro, couple of pBass mainly.
From what I've gathered the ph should be slightly acidic around 6.5-7.0.

When I checked the tap water and my aquarium water (supplied from tap water) the pH is in the range of 7.0 - 7.5.

Should I try to bring it down to 6.5 or leave it as it is?
The advantage of leaving it is that I don't have to do any additions everytime I do a water change and I can assume that the pH will be pretty consistent.
If I start changing it then I have to make sure that I keep it consistent all the time, every water change, which can be couple of times a week even.

But is it okay for my South American fish?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

you will be fine...IMO a steady Ph is better then a perfect Ph

You should be fine with 7.0 - 7.5 I pretty much agree with the answers so far.

Dam it is nice to see people not messing with PH, fish adapt well so long as it is stable. Good advice guys. To much Crap advise from those that are brain washed by PH preachers.
