should i be worried

I have what i think is a green sunfish but not sure i found it in the feeder tank in CA. Well half of its body is dark black and the front half is cream colored. Is it some type of disease or something else did i mention it is about half a inch long maybe a little bit larger.

yes a picture would help. sunfish especially greens dont turn half black anytime, Could be melanistic, or just a birth defect or left over from earlier injury
