Hi
I have three Endi's in my 220L tank (grow out tank) they are 14cm -16cm getting ready to move them to a bigger tank 550L.
But in the last two days they have become very active they go around & around & around the back glass for hrs none stop all three of them.I have a long air tube on the back glass they go over the top then squish there body down the side between the air tube & glass under the tube back up start again.
They have been very lazy all the time I have had them for (from 4 months) and become active at feeding time or when the lights go out .So this behavior most of the day is out of character for them.
The ornate seems normal stuck behind the filter pick up as always she is a real night person.
They seem to be breathing heavy and have been a bit skittish lately easier to spook then normal.
Still eating like pigs water is all good.
Anyone got any idea ?
I am thinking of treating them for a parasite just in case :WHOA:

thx

i think a fish swimming up and down against the glass is partly due to stress. i'm not sure what they're stressed about though but it could be anywhere from bright light to small space or maybe not enough hiding spots.

Its got me I have just one light on a 2' deep tank it's not bright at all & it's always been the same which has not bothered them before. They have plenty of spots to hide.
I did add a L168 about a week ago for some cleaning work which he is doing a great job at.Have never seen him bother them if anything the ornate gives him a hard time.I do not think it is him but will remove it anyway.
They all do seem to have split tails ?

split tail is probably from the bichirs fighting one another. my delhezis did that at the beginning and they all had split or chewed tails. they all grew back though after a few weeks.

i think the new tank will do wonders...
