I have bred alot of fish over the years and I have seen countless spawnings of flowerhorn and CA Cichlids. I paired Typhoon (my avatar) approx. 7-9" with an older female almost 25-30% larger than him. She is 3 yrs old and this is mabey her 3 or 4th spawning. Neways they started laying about 2hrs ago and both her and his tubes were out and they were doin the do. I go to check on them and his tube went back in and hers is still out he is fanning the eggs and she is tring to still lay but instead of eggs comming out her tube its blood!!! :WHOA::WHOA::WHOA:

Just checked on them she is still tring to lay!!!! I hope she dosn't bleed to death.

That does not sound good.. Serious question but can FH's get menopause? 3 years old is pretty old considering most max out at 2 years. Hope all goes well for you.

did the male bite here tube? ive had it happen she didnt lay eggs untill a few months later untill it healed?

No no biting he is surprisingly gentle with her. I dont know about menopause a friend of mine has a female that is 5 and she lays perfectly fine. I think she has something going on internally she always has layed small batches. I checked on them today her tube is still out but I think she stopped bleeding. The male is fanning the eggs I think I am going to remove the parents and raise the eggs. I will give them a day or so to see what happens

Hey genius... That's when the blood stops... LMAO don't your mom teach you anything?

I guess that was the wrong word to use. I was talking about being able to produce eggs part but I guess you're too busy taking this forum as a joke. :/

It's not so much the forum I take as a joke... It's just SOME (you) of the people here that are a JOKE to me... Yes... The correct word would be period. That means the female is still producing eggs.
