Hey MFK,

Picked up a 240 (8x2x2) from cl and I am in the process of setting it up. I know that the tank holds water and does not leak (filled it and let it sit for 2 weeks in garage to make sure) but the seams have cloudy areas that worry me. Some of these areas go about half way across the seam, but none go all the way across. The seams are where the side panels meet the front pane. Is this going to be a problem in the future? Is it possible to repair the seams before a leak happens? I have attached pictures to give you an idea of the issue. Any help is appreciated.

to me it looks like either a bad glue job, or the seams are starting to pull apart. but im no expert so i would wait untill a more experienced person to chime in

I am also not an expert but yes it looks like it is seperating. Is there a gap on the edge that you think you could get some solvent into? The stuff is water thin.

It does seem there is a space for solvent to wick in between the panels, but I have never used acrylic solvent. Should I tape off the seam and let the solvent run down the joint and work its way into the seam? I don't want to damage the side panels by getting solvent on them, and obviously I want the seam to look good. Anybody done this?

That acrylic looks kind of thin for a 240g.

When my acrylic tank started getting like that, I moved my fish and scraped the tank.
