Just bought a used tank, and some of the silicone in the corner looks to have rotted a bit. Is it bad enough to where I have to re-silicone it? The rest of the silicone looks fine. And it holds water fine for now. I just don't want any surprises later. Thanks.

Every used tank I have bought , I have cut back some of the silicone and resealed it. Not worth taking any chances

I agree, I do the same thing. It's a [ain in the butt resealing but it's worth the piece of mind. Good luck David.

Its worth the peace of mind for sure.. Get aquarium sealant tho obv. It does look pretty bad from the pic

My tank has something kinda like this, but not in a corner and not as bad. It's fine. Ive never resealed. If anything im happier with how it is now as i wouldnt trust myself to re-seal it well enough. If I was you I would re-seal it, if you know what you're doing. Good luck ;P

Ok, I re-sealed it last night, and I'm filling it up now to see if it holds. Another question though. I've attached a pic of the bottom right corner of the stand. Would that gap compromise the integrity of the stand?

I think thats just trim for looks, but you may want to show some interior pics of the stand to show the structural support. Nice floor btw.

It's and AGA stand, so that is actually the base of the stand. I will try and get some pics later. Thanks.
