I called into my LFS today and they had a great looking 8" red devil. Normally i would of bought it there and then but the only tank i have that may be suitable is my 150 gallon. In there at present i have a pair of convicts, male salvini, female FH, 6" male jag, 7" male green terror (nasty bugger) and a 8" oscar. If i do decide to go and buy the RD what will i have to re-home.

Thanks Steve

if you dont have the room, i wouldnt do it.. hes just going to get bigger. I would get rid of the oscar to make room. thats almost an even swap. (size)

you know my opinion already i think they are great and a purchase would be a good one although you will have to remove some of the less aggressive and mkae as many hiding places and more rocks and caves which the smaller can fit into where he cant as he will be the biggest in the tank this should be fairly easy.

i think you might have to remove the oscar because they dont normally go and hide.. as the others would not to sure but maybe the FH.

also have a divider handy just in case you might want to divide it for a while and say give him maybe a 3rd of the tank just to let the littler ones catch up on size.

keep us informed on what youre going to do.
:):):):)

I wouldn't do it, unless you get some more room later

That tank is fully stocked. IME, GT's can't hang with Jags and RDs. They talk the talk but can't walk the walk. You should put the GT in another tank if you get the RD.

I know the tank is stocked at the moment thats why i didn't buy the fish. What i wanted to know was what people thought i needed to remove from the tank if i was planning on getting the RD The only fish in the tank i would not consider removing is the jag.

I know, I didn't mean for it to sound like that. I was just saying if I were in your shoes, I would remove the GT.
