went to the thrift store saw this stack of sheet glass mostly 1X4 feet for $1 sq ft. is it worth picking up?
should i buy this glass?!

Sure, then you could build that octyhexahedron tank you've always never known you wanted. 
I use it for tanks when I need special stuff, I've been lucky to gey the 18" wide tho. If it's older stuff it's probably not tempered
(safety glass). Is any chipped?
4'x1'x1'= 30g
4'x4'x1'= 120g
Hex tank tall= 77.74g
Hex tank wide= 311g (think about it
