So my current tank hasn’t been made with the smartest choices and now i have a lot of chasing and im wondering if I should change the stock before disaster strikes all the fish are around 5”the current fish in the tank are
1x creamsicle Midevil
1x male green terror
1x female green terror
1x male jack Dempsey
1x female jack Dempsey
All are being chased by the midevil so I’m thinking I should get rid of everything besides the midevil and do Central American cichlids the tank is 6x24 and I was thinking about doing
1x midevil
1x Motaguense
And 2 other fish but I was looking for suggestions on others not exactly sure on what I want for the other 2

I’d get rid of the devil, I don’t think a 180 is big enough for tank mates long term.
You might be able to keep the other 4 if you scape it properly, but I’m not even sure of that.

Personally i think you could keep the other 4 in a 180 of that what you want. Im not sure id want that stocking in mine but thats besode the point. The Rusty Wessel fish house is full of 180s stocked with more central americans per tank than you can imagine and I think rusty is as good as anybody at this stuff. Just like any tank you need to be able to recognize issues as they occur and react accordingly.
I'm sure this isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's understandable.

The real question is what do you want to see in your tank and can you morally take care of those fish.

Right now I’m thinking
1x red devil
1x female rtm
4x silver dollars
And one or 2 other cichlids

Mixing a rtm with a devil would be asking for trouble - I’d either go for a pair of either, or try mixing some of the more mellow species like Jack, gt, etc. Jack and gt may have some compatibility problems just from looking so similar though.

So what would be a good tank stock if I wanted to keep the midevil with the rtm and what would be a good tank stock if I got rid of the midevil and started a Central American tank with the rtm

This was a male red devil and female rtm in my 90 gallon growout at 4”…

Had to change that housing arrangement real quick! There were an additional two smaller female Rtm in there but this larger female was perceived as a threat by the devil and he pushed the fights.

Agree with everyone else. Keep the GTs and Jacks. They should be fine together in a 180, just give them a lot of sight line breaks and more hides than there are fish. Might want to have a divider on hand for breeding times or after breeding time (males can get a little pushy before females are ready), but I've never had either a GT or JD that became a murderous monster in a tank that big. That RD/Midas is going to claim the whole tank when it's grown and kill anything it sees as competition and then the rest just because.

I agree with above except that since you appear to want a pair of GT and JD it could very well get ugly even in a 180. If/when they decide to breed a mature pair will likely go to war with the other pair.
