I have been offered to host a video based on an iguana care book. The shoot would be 2 hours away but they offered $100 plus gas and tolls to get there. They asked if I could bring my iguana (julio) and if I could just essentially read from a script derived from this book (see below). He said that maybe I could continue to do more projects with him if this works well since he does a lot of this sort of thing.

Sounds great but here are my concerns:
Julio is a rescue and not in the best condition, I do not want people thinking that this is what a healthy iguana looks like
I am worried about the stress of transporting and filming will put on julio.
I am not impressed with this book or website and it sort of looks like it could be a scam and I do not want to be involved in that sort of thing.

What do you guys think?

here is the link to the book:

IMHO $100 is not worth the risk of possibly losing a pet.

I agree with that and the fact that their website looks like a scam haha
I would not buy anything off that website, lol

They don't seem very knowledgeable, the info on their websites states that it is about green iguanas yet they put a photo of a water dragon on the cover, I wouldn't do it.

I'd say no because they obviously don't know the difference between a Water Dragon and a Green Igg. Also, I wouldn't put your iggy through that stress for no reason. If the site looked a bit more legit I would do it, but not the way it is.

I am not worried about Julio dieing but stress is still never a good thing. He has been through worse I just dont want to put him through it unless its really worth it and maybe can save a few other iggs.

I was thinking about asking for $250(including gas) and a copy of the book to be sure it exists. that is $150 for me and a little more than enough to cover gas ($.40 a mile). I am in need of some more money but Im not desperate either....

does this seem fair?

Edit: just saw the rest of the replies. I won't do it. Thanks for the advice.

although i think it would be a great experience, i don't see any good coming out of being associated with a book like that. don't do it

the fact that they have a water dragon on the cover tells me you did good staying away from them lol
