I have a divided 125 gallon tank with cichlids of different sizes in each compartment. My goal was this:
Male Mayan x devil + female Mayan
Male salving + female parrot x Pink con (she's short bodied like a parrot but face and find like con, color is somewhere in between. I've seen the parents before purchase, so I know she's a legit cross)
So I tried this in one section, using two female salvini, one male salvini, and both hybrids since all were about 3-4 inches and got:
A rejected and really P.O. Parrotcon
A pair of salvini (bigger female with tons of blue and little red, similar male)
And a female salvini (brilliant red lower half of the black stripe, mustard color body even when stressed) paired to my very young but apparently cooperative male Mayan x devil
Btw, the Mayan/devil is a fader!
Should I encourage this spawning or go back to my original plans?
