should I fast my bichir alittle

as you guys know, my bichir has a bump from food. Can I let him fast overnight with no food?

he will last a month easy with no food, but i would wait a week and see if the bump goes down

Researsh shows that animal and human longivitiy descreases for those who eat until they are satisfied. Since in nature food is a rare commodity, wild animals benefit from an instinct to stuff themselves. But humans and all of their pets stay healthier and longer if they are always a little bit hungry. Very generally the bigger an animal, the less frequent it needs to be fed.
Most people overfeed their fish, which is bad for the fish and requires more water changes.
I believe that I can get away with monthly WCs and UGFs because I skip a day or two for feeding all of my fish and feed some only weekly.
