So, We are doing some renovations at my house, and it means I have a 4x2ft gap for me to fill.
The plan is to have two enclosures in that space.
The top enclosure will definitely be a 4x2x3ft enclosure for my Bearded dragon.
Below I have two options.
A 4x2x4ft for either a Black Headed or Ackie Monitor,
OR a 4x2x2ft (120 gallon) fish tank.
The fish tank would be the cheaper route.
If I choose the 120 my stocking would be a West African style tank with
1 Senegal Bichir (Feel like he could do with an upgrade from his 2x1.5x1.5 ft)
1 Elephant Nose
10 Congo Tetras
2 Butterfly fish

What do you think I should go with?

Go with what you favor the best.

I say endorse my username and get the fish tank! ?

I like the fish idea, though leave out the Congo’s. Mine continuously fought and killed one another. The elephant nose is a skiddish fish, and your sen might benefit from more bichirs. Butterfly fish are amazing. They’re in the same family as Arowanas, and from what I’m told, act like them. It’s also cheaper.

Congos need a 50-50 mix of males and females or it becomes a bloodbath.
More bichirs is definitely not happening, as I seem to have capped my spending limit on fish with my mother. (Anything over $120 must be a reptile).
Id go with the monitors
That is probably want I would want, but I think money wise, the tank makes more sense. All in all the tank would be about ~350 with fish, and the monitors would be about ~1400.
Ackies are super cool monitors. But I like all your 120 fish choices too. Hard decision.
I know. In the end it will probably come down to what my mother decides she would like. She has shown interest in the blackheads though

I've never really looked at a blackhead monitor before. Looks like alot of the Aussie monitors, cool.
I've been really wanting to get back into reptiles again. I was thinking a green, black, or blue tree monitor.
I've had larger monitors black rough neck and argus. I've had a Timor monitor also, that little girl was evil!
