I saw a banded carape(If that's the right species:confused: ) knifefish for $25. it was about 4-5" is that a good price? How active are these guys? are they aggressive? how big do they get? I thought that he looked pretty cool, but didn't want to make an impulse buy and regret it. Thanks for any help

any possibility of getting a picture of it? Just want to see what it looks like.. :)

I didn't have my phone with me so I couldn't take any pics:( , but I can try and describe it to ya. It had the head of a Carapo Knife, but the body was black and patternless for the most part, but I could see faint hints of some banding on it.

Was it anything like the one i have posted under tigre knife..in this section..

It was a little similar with what little pattern I did see, but it was more compact and didn't have such a skinny body and tail

Most Knife fish are good large community fish. South American species tend to be more secretive and like to hide, but they will come out once they feel comfortable in there surroundings. Just give them plenty of hiding spaces. And they are a lot more territorial with one another than the Asian species. I've never seen these fish for sale around my area (sometimes, I think it's a good thing :grinno: ).
