Should I get a BGK?

I was wondering if i could add a 3-4" BGK with my bichir which is 7" inches in tank would this work out?

I'd suggest that you get a bigger bgk, coz there is a tendency that the 7 inch bichir might eat it, or sell your bichir and get a smaller one so at least they will know each other until the little bichir grows up (bichir grows faster than bgk)

an ornate could be ok, ive got a 7" bgk with a 14" lap with no problems.

keep the ornate full and you should be fine...

but if the ornate gets a growth spurt you could be in trouble

BGKs grow slow and bichirs always seem to vary. I'd get a bigger BGK.

I think it is worth the gamble, but if theres a way to grow it out elsewhere or get a bigger one that is of course the best option

i had my ornate for 3 months only grow 1inch well if anything happens i could set up a 2nd tank for the BGK
