I've read a lot about Ocean Clear Filters with built in UV sterilizers. They seem like great filters. I will need another filter for my new tank. Should I get an Ocean Clear or stick with wet/dry? New tank will be 120-150gal. with pikes or PB.

an fx5 would be a better choice, if you pm rich from infinite aquatics. you can buy a used fx5 for 125. doesnt come with media though

I had two ocean clears on my tank and switched them both out for an fx5. They're amazing canisters but the fx5 is so much nicer!

Im just curious never used an ocean clear myself. What made you guys come to the conclusion the FX5 was superior ? Was it hard to maintain or service ? Was the filtration not as solid etc?

Seems like everybody loves fx5. I looked them up and they got a lot of positive feedback.
Absolutely they are great machines no doubt. Im curious what peoples opinions on the Ocean Clears were and why they liked the FX5's more.

I loved my ocean clears and I don't regret buying them in any way shape or form but the fx5 is easier to maintain and takes up less room then my two ocean clears and does the same amount of work.

I have a few Ocean Clear's and the upgraded Nu-Clear filters. I love em. The Nu-Clear is a better filter. It has larger intakes and the lid is easier to open. I got all mine used and very cheap, about 50 bucks on average. For $50 the Ocean Clear beats out the FX5 hands down. :)
If you have the cash or you can find an FX5 for about the same price as that Ocean Clear then I would go with the FX5. It's just a better over all filter.
